Cal 2-29 For Sale
$5,000.

This is your opportunity to own a Cal 2-29 Coastal Cruiser currently berthed in Lake Washington at Leschi Marina. Oly's current slip has the potential to be sublet slip for up to 1 year at discretion of Leschi marina.

"Oly" (Yes, she is named after the beer) has been the family boat for the last forty+ years. She has been berthed in Lake Washington, At Shilshole and in Friday Harbor, making many passages between the San Juans, Vancouver and Seattle.

Over 1000 Cal 29's were built back in the 1970s. The Cal 2-29 is a special cruising version of the Cal 29, equipped with a Farymann 12HP diesel engine, pedestal steering, head with shower and pressure water, and some other features not standard on the stock Cal 29. A potential upgrade to a roller furling headsail is on board, ready to install, however, she will sail faster with her hanked genoa, if you wish to race her. Importantly, she has standing headroom for 6+ foot crew.

While better called a "coastal cruiser," perfectly suited for weekend use, other Cal 2-29s have made vast passages including the sail to Hawaii.

Oly is well equipped for cruising, racing or just gunkholing and fishing. She will be sold AS-IS with all the gear she has on board including: Mainsail, Genoa, Spinnaker and pole, lifelines, uninstalled roller furling, sail cover, two anchors, chain and rode, gimballed stove, cockpit mounted grill, numerous tools and spare parts, and more.

Oly can sleep six. She has a queen V-berth forward, two quarter berths aft, and the dining table opposite the galley lowers to make the settee into a double berth as well.

I no longer have the time to use Oly or properly care for her, so I am selling her. She needs a little maintenance and cleaning, but I hope she will be as good an addition to your family as she has been to mine for the last 40+ years.

Please take a look at her pictures and if you are interested give me a call at  206-854-8907 or email me at lcgrimm@protonmail.com
